Despite WorkSafe's efforts to spread the safety message, their most recent blitz late last year exposed that some businesses are still ignoring it and recklessly endangering the health and wellbeing of their workers. 8 out of 41 job site inspections during the blitz were found to not be complying with working at heights requirements.
With a total of 15 businesses in Victoria's solar sector being prosecuted between 2018 and 2022, these incidents resulted in serious injuries, with one instance even causing the death of an unfortunate business owner.
